A familiar problem for most homeowners, fruit flies are commonly spotted swarming around kitchen fruit bowls and near garbage storage areas. Don’t let these annoying pests get the best of you — get rid of them with our fast-acting fruit fly apple trap.
The TERRO® Fruit Fly Traps lure adult fruit flies into the trap using a non-toxic, food-based liquid lure. Once the flies enter the trap, they cannot escape to continue breeding and multiplying. And better yet, gone are the days of unsightly traps — this attractive, apple-shaped fruit fly trap looks right at home in any kitchen.
How to Trap Fruit Flies
All stages of a fruit fly infestation depend on moist organic debris to complete the fruit fly life cycle. The non-toxic vinegar found in the fruit fly apple trap lures the flies to the traps and eliminates the infestation. Within a few days of placing the trap near a breeding source, you should see a significant decrease in the number of fruit flies — and might find yourself humming, “Shoo fly, don’t bother me.”
Easy Activation: 2-step process
You won’t find an easier trap to use. 1) Empty half (15mL) of the liquid lure into one trap's vapor chamber. 2) Place the traps where fruit flies have been seen and where they won’t be disturbed or tipped over. Discard the trap after 30 days of use. Fruit flies entering the trap can't escape to continue the breeding cycle.
Locate Breeding Areas
The key to successful elimination of fruit flies is to locate their breeding source and place a TERRO® Fruit Fly Trap nearby. Fruit flies are commonly spotted swarming around kitchen fruit bowls and near garbage storage areas. Place fruit fly traps behind or under kitchen counters, sinks, dishwashers, near unrefrigerated fruits and vegetables, and any other location where fruit is stored.

Review RateGreat product those little red apples.
Had a problem with small black ants and pesky fruit flies and the Terro Products I purchased got rid of both. I have used Terro Products in the past. That's why I went back to them.
Review RateWorks great...BUT....
I had an issue with fruit flies for over a month and the home made remedies did not work a bit. Finally broke down and bought these traps. The fruit flies were gone within a day. They worked great!! However, I have small kids. And one of the traps got knocked over onto my brand new marble counter. The liquid stains the counter tops...so be very careful with placement.
We have been using these traps for 2 days and the fruit flies are using them as hang outs! I should have read all the reviews before buying them. Bummer.Response From Terro®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
Thank you for providing this feedback! Nuisance flies such as gnats or drain flies are commonly mistaken for fruit flies. This trap will be effective for fruit flies only.

Review Ratefruit flies don't commit suicide if they can if they can copulate
I have been using your product for about 2 days. Yes the fruit flies come to the product but they don't go inside the apple to be gone. They congregate around the green ring and continue to, what I believe to be, copulating as they are crawling all over each other. It made me sick. I had previously used the home remedy of apple cider vinegar and some type of rotted fruit and it did work but these little buggers seem smarter than anything and prefer to copulate rather than jump in to die. ????
These are amazing and not unattractive. Works well every time I need them.
Review RateAwesome! will order again!
Awesome product! I placed it by trash can and ALL flies were dead within 1 day! Make sure to place it an area that doesnt have a lot of traffic...it scares them before they have a chance to move down into the trap. I made a homemade one but this is much easier! It's foolproof!!!
Review RateRoll back please!
Wish you hadn’t changed the design! The old traps (with yellow on them) worked great! These are very mediocre. I won’t be ordering again unless out revert to the old design.Response From Terro®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
While it is true that the packaging and design of the trap has changed, the formula is still the same. If fruit flies are not attracted to the bait, it could be that they are another type of nuisance fly such as a gnat or drain fly. Fruit flies are commonly mistaken for these flies.

- All About
Fruit flies are commonly found in homes, grocery stores and restaurants; anywhere food may be rotting and fermenting. Most noticeable summer through fall, fruit flies can be a nuisance year-round.
As the name implies, fruit flies are attracted to fruits, as well as vegetables, sitting out on store shelves, in bowls in kitchens and ripening in the garden.
How do the TERRO® Fruit Fly Traps work to control fruit fly invasionsAll stages of a fruit fly infestation depend on moist organic debris to complete the fruit fly life cycle. The non-toxic, food based liquid in the TERRO® Fruit Fly Trap lures adult flies into the traps. Once the flies enter the trap, they cannot escape to continue breeding and multiplying.
The insects swarming around my house aren’t attracted to the TERRO® Fruit Fly Trap I just purchased. Can you explain why?Often a gnat, drain fly or other type of nuisance fly invasion is mistaken for a fruit fly invasion. As their name suggest, fruit flies are attracted to fruit - they’re small, winged insects typically found around ripe produce in your kitchen, near garbage cans and open bottles of wine.
To determine what type of infestation you’re dealing with, simply place a TERRO® Fruit Fly trap near the area where the insects are swarming. If the flies aren’t attracted to the lure, you’re most likely not dealing with a fruit fly invasion.
