Ants can be a problem anywhere – in the home, at work and everywhere in between. To kill common household ants, place TERRO® Liquid Ant Baits in areas where they attract foraging ants that take the bait back to the nest. As the bait circulates through the colony, it kills the ants you see and the ones you don’t. The new and improved snap-off tab makes the stations easy to use. Plus, the closed bait stations prevent the bait from drying out to provide the ants with a continuous supply of liquid, day and night. Note: complete control may take up to two weeks. How Liquid Ant Bait Works Since this is a bait, initially you will see more ants – but don’t worry, this is a good thing. Why? As ants forage for food, they are easily attracted to the sweet, sugary liquid inside the bait stations. After finding the bait, worker ants consume it and leave behind a pheromone trail leading back to the colony. This trail lets other worker ants know where the newly discovered food supply is. This is why you will see more ants in the beginning.
Meanwhile, the active ingredient, Borax, is slowly interfering with the ant’s digestive system, ultimately killing it, but leaving enough time for the ant to go back and share the dose with the rest of the colony. This slow kill is necessary so that foraging ants can make several trips to the bait. The communal nature of an ant colony allows the bait to be spread to hundreds, if not thousands, of individual ants.Where to Place Ant Baits
Place TERRO® Liquid Ant Baits near trails and other locations where ants are numerous. It’s also a good idea to place bait stations anywhere ants may try to enter your home. The compact size of the bait stations makes them perfect for placement along baseboards, in corners, on counters, under and behind appliances, and on windowsills. The more bait placements, the better!Easy-Open Tab Each TERRO® Liquid Ant Bait station is sealed so the bait stays fresh until you’re ready to use them. To open the bait, hold the station vertically and twist the new and improved tab. This opens up the station and allows ants to access the bait. Place the entire station on a flat surface, keeping the ant bait inside the station.
Note: Some earlier versions of TERRO® Liquid Ant Bait required it to be opened by scissors. The new snap-off tab eliminates this method of opening, but some earlier versions may still be sold while supplies last. How to Use Liquid Ant Baits
TERRO® Liquid Ant Baits are very easy to use. Before placing the bait stations, be sure to remove other sources of food, such as crumbs, sugar and grease spots to prevent attracting ants elsewhere. Do not place bait where you’ve already sprayed insecticides, as the pests may avoid the bait stations.

Review RateDid NOT kill even (1) ant!
I purchased several of your liquid ant traps. (I'm sure I had the old design plastic trap) It NEVER worked! Not one! I have 2 houses, didn't work in either. I have the large black ants. I only see them once or twice a year. I even took a liquid ant trap and put it in a paper bag with 3 ants in it. I checked on it every day. The ants wanted no part of the ant trap. To give myself "peace of mind," I grabbed an ant and put it inside the trap. I put tape over the hole. The ant was still alive 3 days later. The only way I killed it was to drown it in the liquid. I sent this same e-mail to Terro, no reply. I kept the traps out for over 5 years...Not one!Response From Terro®Susan : Consumer Relations Representative
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your valuable feedback, we are so sorry that you didn't see the desired results with this product!
The vast majority of ants will be eliminated by our liquid ant bait, however there are a few types that are not looking for sweet based foods, and will not be attracted to the bait stations. If this is the case, a contact killer such as our Ant Killer Spray, may be a better option.

Review RateLove these traps
We love these. We set up a couple two years ago this ants never came back. This year we’ve had what look like carpenter ants in our kitchen and upstairs bathroom. We set several out. It wasn’t long before the feeding frenzy began. Haven’t seen a one today.
Review RateSimply Amazing
The army of black ants that have invaded our home have been defeated! They are gone, and in one day the battle was over. We tried the Raid Ant Baits to no effect at all. We were killing ants with our bare hands till the wife brought the Terro Liquid home. Simply Amazing!
Review RateWOW, THESE ARE AMAZINGLY PRODUCTIVE - INFINITELY BETTER THAN ANY OF 4 OTHER KINDS IVE TRIED THAT DIDN’T GET 1 ANT!
WOW, THESE ARE AMAZINGLY PRODUCTIVE - INFINITELY BETTER THAN ANY OF 4 OTHER KINDS IVE TRIED THAT DIDN’T GET 1 ANT! I bought 3 kinds of ant traps this year because last year I bought 1 other kind that didn’t work at all. NOT 1 ant has been anywhere NEAR the other inside kind (Hot Shot Ultra Liquid Ant Bait) that says it kills within 24 hours while I AM SHOCKED in awe watching the insanity of these addict ants obsessing over this 1 kind of trap!!!! I haven’t seen less than 15 ants in the TERRO® Liquid Ant Bait near my stove where there is a baseboard heater SINCE I got home from work today 5 HOURS AGO!!!! Apparently this trap found the source entrance of my ant infestation! (I put them out last night before bed.) It’s so insane how busy this watering hole is! I highly recommend these traps. It’s been hard knowing I’m a mass murderer that is slowly killing entire communities of creatures (well, as long as the borax poison works to get rid of my outrageously busy ant party spot kitchen!) BUT Daily fears, being grossed out, and daily mass murder is certainly worse than this technique of them doing it themselves via traps! I am really hoping I can finally get some sleep once there aren’t a bunch of little bugs crawling all over who knows where inside my home freaking me out!
Review RateGot an ant problem? Here's how to wipe em out!!!
Wow! I give this liquid bait a 6 out of 5!!! I had scout ants showing up all over the house! Called out pest guy. He couldnt come for 2 weeks. Couldn't wait that long to do something. Went to Walmart and bought some Terro liquid ant bait. Searched the house and found the colony was in the garage wall. Laid down one trap in the garage and a few in spots where I saw scouts. The garage bait was closest to the colony so it got the most action. Soon it was like a conga line! I laid down 2 more. Wiped them out in 48 hours! Not a single ant left!!! Cancelled my past control appointment and saved myself God knows how much money!!! If you've got an ant problem, buy this product!!!
Review Rateworks well, safer than regular ant control products
This works well. I'd had a pest control company come out and spray for ants, and the ants came back in a week and a half. I put out Terro ant bait traps in the house and used the Terro liquid outside at the ant hills, and in 2-3 days, no ants in the house. I'm sorry now that I even tried the pest control company, because I'm told by the manufacturer of the outside spray that they used that I shouldn't plant vegetables or bee-friendly plants in the garden near the house foundation until the spray degrades in several years, because the plat roots will take up the poison in the spray. Terro just has borax in it, effective but not poisonous to bees or humans.
Review RateNew system
Product is great, however your new traps are horrible. Ants aren’t going back to the nest, they are drowning in the liquid. Not easy to open and traps leak, go back!Response From Terro®Jules : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateOld T300 scissor-cut Terro bait trap worked great - new tear-off does NOT WORK
I have used Terro T300 bait traps and they were by FAR better than any competitor that I had tried. Recently I ordered 9 boxes of 6 traps each and tried 1/2 a box next to the old previous design (the cut-off w/scissors version). The old version worked great - a "ton" of ants went in. The new version got 1 or 2 ants only if that after many days. I returned all of the unopened boxes and am not hugely disappointed and wondering how to proceed. You have ruined a previously EXCELLENT product and delivery system. Without an EFFECTIVE delivery system, your great product is rendered useless. Please return to a workable solution -- the old style worked great.Response From Terro®Jules : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateDo not purchase
I bought these because we had many ants coming into our house by our window. I read some reviews and they seemed like they worked but they did not for me. I followed the directions and nothing if anything it created a spot for the ants to hang out. Haven't seen one dead one and it's been 4 days... Do not waste your money.Response From Terro®Jules : Consumer Relations Representative
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! While it may seem like the baits are not effective because you see more ants around the stations, this is actually an indication that the baits are working. After finding the bait, worker ants consume it and leave behind a pheromone trail leading back to the colony. This trail lets other worker ants know where the newly discovered food supply is. While this is happening, the bait is slowly killing them, but not before they can spread it to the rest of the colony. It can take up to two weeks to eliminate an entire colony of ants, depending on its size. For more information, give us a call at 800-800-1819 x 458. We're happy to help!
