Ants can be a problem anywhere – in the home, at work and everywhere in between. To kill common household ants, place TERRO® Liquid Ant Baits in areas where they attract foraging ants that take the bait back to the nest. As the bait circulates through the colony, it kills the ants you see and the ones you don’t. The new and improved snap-off tab makes the stations easy to use. Plus, the closed bait stations prevent the bait from drying out to provide the ants with a continuous supply of liquid, day and night. Note: complete control may take up to two weeks. How Liquid Ant Bait Works Since this is a bait, initially you will see more ants – but don’t worry, this is a good thing. Why? As ants forage for food, they are easily attracted to the sweet, sugary liquid inside the bait stations. After finding the bait, worker ants consume it and leave behind a pheromone trail leading back to the colony. This trail lets other worker ants know where the newly discovered food supply is. This is why you will see more ants in the beginning.
Meanwhile, the active ingredient, Borax, is slowly interfering with the ant’s digestive system, ultimately killing it, but leaving enough time for the ant to go back and share the dose with the rest of the colony. This slow kill is necessary so that foraging ants can make several trips to the bait. The communal nature of an ant colony allows the bait to be spread to hundreds, if not thousands, of individual ants.Where to Place Ant Baits
Place TERRO® Liquid Ant Baits near trails and other locations where ants are numerous. It’s also a good idea to place bait stations anywhere ants may try to enter your home. The compact size of the bait stations makes them perfect for placement along baseboards, in corners, on counters, under and behind appliances, and on windowsills. The more bait placements, the better!Easy-Open Tab Each TERRO® Liquid Ant Bait station is sealed so the bait stays fresh until you’re ready to use them. To open the bait, hold the station vertically and twist the new and improved tab. This opens up the station and allows ants to access the bait. Place the entire station on a flat surface, keeping the ant bait inside the station.
Note: Some earlier versions of TERRO® Liquid Ant Bait required it to be opened by scissors. The new snap-off tab eliminates this method of opening, but some earlier versions may still be sold while supplies last. How to Use Liquid Ant Baits
TERRO® Liquid Ant Baits are very easy to use. Before placing the bait stations, be sure to remove other sources of food, such as crumbs, sugar and grease spots to prevent attracting ants elsewhere. Do not place bait where you’ve already sprayed insecticides, as the pests may avoid the bait stations.

Product is great, however your new traps are horrible. Ants aren’t going back to the nest, they are drowning in the liquid. Not easy to open and traps leak, go back!Response From Terro®Jules : Consumer Relations Representative

put bait out went from 2 ants to 10 in and out of the station 48 hours later I see none looks like it worked great !
Review RateWorks like magic!
I bought this to get rid of those pesky little black ants. It worked perfectly and as described in the instructions. Thank you!!
Review RateIt wasn't broken... why did you try to fix it.
I agree with many of the other post here. The old design was MUCH better than this new design. The top DOES NOT just snap off. I actually wound up having to cut it off. Then when it's off the package sits too high off the surface for the very tiny ants to get into. I actually wound up having to pour some of the liquid out onto the surface to get it to work. Please bring back the old packaging.Response From Terro®Jules : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateNot a single dead ant.
Not a single dead ant anywhere. I had a trap set for about a month now and all I ever see are 10+ ants scavenging the trap and taking it wherever they go and yet they still come back.Response From Terro®Jules : Consumer Relations Representative
The active ingredient, Borax, interferes with the ant’s digestive system, ultimately killing it, but leaving enough time for the ant to go back and share the dose with the rest of the colony. Our Liquid Ant Baits are usually effective over the course of two weeks. If ants are still present after this period, you may be dealing with multiple colonies. Consider treating the outside of your home using products like TERRO® Perimeter Ant Bait Plus, or using a contact killer like TERRO Outdoor Ant Killer Spray. Review RateNew ones don't work!
The new formula and twist off ends are a bust. My ants won't touch these new ones. I was a faithful and sold out customer prior to this. Everyone changes what isn't broke....almost always to make more $$$. Tired of it. These new ones have less liquid which I could live with if it still worked.Response From Terro®Kathryn : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateReliable eradication of ants
Great Product! In less than two days, one ant bait trap took care of well over 1,000 ants in a closet. We keep these on hand for whenever we see an ant in the house and they always do the trick!
Review RateUsed to love them, but now hate the new snap off opening
I used to love these traps for years until they switched to the new snap off openings. Not only do the ants have a harder time finding the bait, but I often get it on my fingers when snapping the end off to open it.Terro, please change back to the original style of cutting the ramp or I will move on to another product.Response From Terro®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateGreat product
I proactively ordered several Terro products, including the Terro Liquid Ant Baits as our home in NC usually experiences multiple points of invasion as the weather becomes cold, and again when the spring rain begins. The Ant Baits are the only product I've found that destroys a well entrenched nest coming from outside to the inside. It does take a couple of weeks, as opposed to directly spraying the visible entry points, but the nest is destroyed.
Review RateIt does work, just have to be patient sometimes
Seem to always get ants somewhere (mostly my bathroom) when spring comes around. I put out a couple of these baits and they’re swarming them like flies. Sometimes they’re gone after a few days or a couple of weeks.
- All About
There are more than 10,000 known species of ants living throughout the world. Like other insects, they have six legs; each with three joints. Ants have large heads with compound eyes, elbowed antennae and powerful jaws. Ants are social insects that live in structured nest communities throughout the world. The species of ant determines whether they live underground, in mounds built at ground level, in wood structures or in plants or trees.
Why are ants always invading my kitchen, bathroom and laundry areas?
Ants are attracted to food, water and shelter. Kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms provide at least two of these conditions, making it an ideal haven for ants to congregate.
What’s the difference between liquid and gel ant baits?
It’s a little known fact that adult worker ants cannot digest solid food (bait). Their anatomy is designed for transporting and digesting liquids only. Solid foods must be carried back to the colony for additional processing by the larvae stage. Liquid baits exploit this unique physiology by making it easy for ants to transport the liquid bait back to the rest of the colony, including the queen, larvae and other workers.
How long does it take to eliminate an ant colony with TERRO® Liquid Ant Bait?
Remember, this is a BAIT ant control product and will initially attract a lot of ants. The ants consume large quantities of the bait and then return to the nest and share it with the rest of the colony, including the queen, eventually eliminating the entire colony. This process can take from just a couple days to several weeks, depending on the size of the colony. Each ant that consumes the bait will die within 24 - 48 hours. It is important to leave the bait as undisturbed as possible while the ants are actively feeding on it. You should replace it only if it becomes inaccessible to the ants, or empty.
