Q.We had an ant problem on our outdoor deck for years. The Terro Outdoor liquid ant Baits got rid of them after only two days. On the other hand, it takes about three to four weeks of using the Terro Liquid Ant Killer (drops) before the ants stop coming back. If we don’t have kids or pets, is it safe to use the Outdoor Liquid Ant Baits INSIDE OUR HOUSE?
A.

It is safe to use this product indoors.

Q.How effective is this product for Carpenter Ants? I was told that I would have to use a commercial bate product for Carpenter ants. Looking forward to your response. Hjs
A.

This product is not recommended for carpenter ants, but we do have several other solutions that can be found here.

Q.What is the measurement in inches of each individual outdoor bait? Also, is there any reason why I should not use these inside my house?
A.

These bait stations are approximatly 2.5 inches by 4.25 inches and 1.5 inches tall.

The durable base is designed to be outdoors, but contains the same effective bait as our TERRO® Liquid Ant Baits.

Q.As the first question, I have 50+ ant hills in my back yard . We have deer coming in our yard & cats @Night. Will they be attracted to the traps? Do I place them scattered throughout the yard to be effective? I am concerned about attracting every ant in my neighborhood. Thanks for some advice.
A.

This product contains sugar and water, which may attract some animals. We recommend placing them in areas where the cats or deer would not be able to access them.

The bait will attract nearby ants, but will not attract them from great distances.

Q.We have like 50-100 ant holes in our back yard. But we have small dogs that have to be in the back yard? Will this product be effective and is it safe to use around dogs. I know the granules are better but can’t risk getting dogs sick.
A.

This product will be effective for all common household ants including Argentine ants, Ghost ants, Cornfield ants, Pavement ants, Acrobat ants, White footed ants, Little black ants, Odorous house ants, Crazy ants, Big headed ants, and other sweet-eating ants. We recommend using the product with caution around pets; they should not be allowed to ingest it.

Q.Are the liquid out door baits safe to be used in a garden around tomato plants? Could I also use the your ant killer dust?
A.

Because this product is contained, it can be used around tomato plants. We do not recommend using the TERRO® Ant Dust (Model T600) around food.

Q.What is the shelf life of unopened Terro Outdoor Liquid Ant Baits?
A.

As long as the bait is liquid, it will be effective. However, we recommend replacing the bait if it is over two years old.

Q.I tried emailing, no response. I uploaded pics last night and forgot to post my Q because I need help. I'm using bait stations for pavement ants (I think). Was working at first but it seems they're blocking the entrances w/ junk (dirt, leaves, twigs, petals mixed w/ the poison - thats what it looks like anyways, sappy) and the dirt mounts are now increasing (before they were decreasing). It looks like they're on to me now lol, activity increasing unlike before. I can't use other products because this problem is in the backyard and we have a dog who's confined to the back yard only due to a broken toe. I've been covering the ant baits w/ domes so the dog and wildlife can't get to it. This has been the only product that I've found that works so please tell me what's happening and what to do about it. Thank you.
A.

Ants may move pieces of their nest to the bait station. As long as the bait can still be accessed, this behavior does not change the effectiveness of the bait. If access to the bait station has been blocked, we recommend replacing the bait station with a fresh one.

Q.What is the minimum temperature these will work? Can they be used in a midwest winter?
A.

This product will continue working as long as it is still liquid.  It will not freeze until it reaches about -13° Fahrenheit (-25° Celsius).

Q.I have crazy ants on my car, will these bait stations effectively work for my situation? Car is parked outdoors always. What would be good placement areas in or on the car? (ie. under-hood, in truck and passenger compartment)
A.

This product is not recommended for use inside a vehicle. It can be placed under the car or near a tire where the ants might be climbing to gain access to the interior.
