Description

Product Description:

Stink bug invasions have been on a steady rise since they arrived in the U.S. from Asia more than a decade ago. Now, homeowners can protect themselves from these unpleasant smelling pests with TERRO® Stink Bug Killer. This powerful stink bug aresol spray quickly kills on contact, wiping out infestations both indoors and outdoors. The non-staining formula can be used on hard surfaces and fabrics and does not leave behind an unpleasant odor.

Featuring a versatile, two-way spray nozzle, the stink bug aerosol spray can be used as a coarse spray or as a crack and crevice treatment to control stink bugs, boxelder bugs, Asian lady beetles, carpenter ants and other pesky insects.

What Is a Stink Bug Anyway?

The stink bug is part of the family of insects called pentatomids, which means five-sided. There are a variety of stink bugs including the brown marmorated stink bug (the most prevalent species in the United States), green stink bug, spined soldier stink bug, two spotted stink bug, arboreal stink bug, red shouldered stink bug, and the rice stink bug.

Stink bugs were first spotted in the U.S. in September, 1998 in Allentown, PA. Since then, the invasive species has now spread to 41 states, including the western states of California and Oregon. The term 'stink bugs' refers to the defensive scent glands located on the underbelly of the bugs. When frightened or smashed, the bugs release a very unpleasant smell. Though not harmful to homeowners, stink bugs can take over your house in a matter of days, quickly turning from a few bugs into a full blown infestation.

Crack and Crevice Treatment:

  • Using the directional stream nozzle setting on the two-way spray attachment, hold container upright and tilt extension tube to a 90° angle with can.
  • Place injection tip ½ inch into cracks and crevices where insects may be hiding, living and breeding.
  • Release a one-second spray per spot.
  • In serious infestations, if possible, place spots approximately 12 inches apart.
  • In light infestations or for preventative treatment, place spots approximately three feet apart.
  • In long running cracks, move the injector tip along the crack while spraying. Move at the rate of one linear foot per second in heavy infestations and three feet per second in light infestation.

Treating Outside Surfaces With Stink Bug Aerosol Spray:

  • Spray foundation of home or building where insects are active and may find entrance up to a height of two to three feet.
  • Apply as a residual spray to outside surfaces of buildings where insects tend to congregate. Typical spray areas include screens, window frames, eaves, porches, patios, garages and refuse dumps.

Bad product....stink bug killer does nothing to kill stink bugs By Angry

We have not had any “luck” with your stink bug spray. They have been invading our house and, even when we spray the bug directly and drench them with the foamy spray, they just pick up and walk off. Is this how your spray is supposed to work?? I bought six cans because of the reviews you had on your website. Very very misleading. The bugs are happy tho. ☹️

    Highly Recommend! By Lori

I used this last year and loved it! I had trouble with stink bugs getting in around my storm doors. I sprayed it all around the storm door and when I opened the interior door, a little later, you should have seen all the dead stink bugs. And it lets a residue and keeps killing them for many days after! When I spray it around the outside windows, you should see them crawling out from the cracks! And they do drop and die! I highly recommend this product! I will be buying more!

Would recommend this product By Sue

This a great product. A friend told us about it last year and he said our local Lowe's sold it. We purchased several cans. sprayed all around the windows and air conditioners.Kept them in check. Went to get some more this year and Lowe's does not have it anymore, so I ordered direct from company.

Happy with the results as it is helping a great deal By Roxanne

It does kill them on contact usually or shortly thereafter. The areas sprayed I have found dead ones and it has greatly reduced the number of stink bugs we have had. I think we need to be sure to spray again every 3 or four days to continue the killing of them.

Effective at prevention, takes several minutes for direct spraying By iHateStinkBugs

From what I have seen, the spray takes several minutes to completely kill the bugs. They won't be able to fly after you spray them directly, and get slower and slower until they run out of energy completely and seem to die. Excellent product, and from a preventative use perspective, it also decreased the number of stinkbugs I was seeing.

    Disappointed! By Daisy142

I had high hopes that this product would work, so I bought 2 cans. I sprayed some directly on the stink bugs, then watched them crawl a little way or fly off! Whether or not they died later, I don't know. I didn't see any dead ones lying around (except ones I stepped on or hit with something). This spray certainly does not kill them upon contact! Luckily, the bugs were outside the house on the porch. I eventually resorted to using a vacuum cleaner, discarding the disposable bag later. I am glad the cooler weather deters their appearance!
