The Scoop on Stink Bugs

Stink bugs were first spotted in the U.S. in Allentown, PA. Since then, the invasive species has spread to 42 states and two Canadian provinces.

Stink bugs are aptly named, referring to the defensive scent glands located on the underbelly of the insects. When frightened or smashed, the bugs release a foul smell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stink Buds no more This is one of the best products that you make, I am a total fan of all your Terro Products but by far this is the best. We purchased a home and when we moved in had over 200 stink bugs from the upstairs to the basement, would wake up in the middle of the night with them crawling on us. We purchase 6 cans and thats all it took to get rid of them in a 3 bedroom house. I recommend all your products when people ask on line on in person what the best thing to buy is and I tell them that yes the best ever stuff out there is TERRO.

    Q&A

Is this product harmful to my dog and my kids (if I use it indoors) from the fumes or product being left on window sills or floor boards and they go near it? Thank you.

    Asked by: Ati1
We would recommend keeping children and pets away from the application areas until the product has dried. The product can be sprayed around window and door trim in areas that are inaccessible to children. We would not recommend applying the product directly to baseboards.

    All About

    Stink Bugs

The stink bug, also known as a shield bug, is easily recognized by its five-sided or shield-shaped body. An agricultural pest native to China and Japan, stink bug invasions have been on a steady rise in the U.S. since they arrived in the late 1990’s. A nuisance to fruit, vegetable and farm crops, stink bugs have officially invaded 33 states, from as far west as California to as far north as Minnesota.

    More About Stink Bugs

    FAQs

    Are stink bugs harmful?

Though not harmful to homeowners, stink bugs are aptly named - it refers to the scent glands located on the underbelly of the insects. When frightened or smashed, the bugs release a terrible smell. If not treated, stink bugs can take over your house in a matter of days, quickly turning from a few bugs into a full blown infestation.

Last fall we were invaded by stink bugs; is there anything I can do to keep them from invading us again this year?

When cool weather arrives, stink bugs begin search for a warm place indoors to hibernate for the winter. Before an indoor stink bug invasion gets out of control, we recommend setting up an outdoor barrier with TERRO® Ready-to-Use Stink Bug Killer Spray. This product not only kills on contact, it also provides a long-lasting residual control up to four months.
