- Grasp cord in one hand; grasp tube in the other.
- Pull out cord slowly while turning tube in a counterclockwise (twirling) motion.
- Cap will pop out. Remove thumbtack from top of cap and save for hanging.
- Discard cap.
- Remove from tube or let tube dangle from strip as an anchor. Hang with thumbtack or cord.
- When strip is full or fly control is achieved, remove from hanging device and discard.
Note: In case of contact with sticky material, wash hands with soap and water. Avoid placing traps in dusty areas as this will cause the glue to lose its adhesive qualities.

Review RateGreat product
I grow organically and thats why I use the fly strips. No poisons and safe for plants. I drape the strips around my pots when trying to knock down a fungus gnat population. Love these.
Review RateGreat product
I have been using Victor flytapes for years. But several months ago the store where I was buying them from closed down so I could only find a different brand of flytape at another retailer. It did not attract the quantity of flying insects that the Victor tapes did at all. It was a noticeable difference. So now I will be ordering them online direct from Victor since the local store closed. Thank you for a good product.
Review RateDidn't work at all
These did not work at all--wish I could have a refund. The flies were only attracted to these great sticky traps on the windows from a different brand. They were gone overnight.Response From Terro®Patty : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateVictor Fly Ribbons....Death to the filthy house fly!!
I have been using Victor fly ribbons for many years now. I used to purchase them at Home Depot but can no longer find them there. These fly ribbons have worked great for me, I hope they continue to do so. Each Summer there are a lot of flies on my property, filthy creatures, I hate them. I hang one Victor fly ribbon near my back door outside and within an hour, several are caught on there and on their way to never being a bother again! Within a few days, the strip is just about covered. When I couldn't find the Victor fly ribbons at Home Depot, I tried another brand....it does NOT work. Why, I have no idea. As of right now it has been hanging in the same spot for nearly two weeks and the only thing it has lured in is TWO LADYBUGS....NO FLIES!!! Please, keep making great fly ribbons, I'll buy direct if I can't find them in a store.
Review RatePlace warnings on this product!!
This is a horrible product!! Nowhere on the packaging does it note that animals, other than insects, can be caught on this paper. The first night I used one of these "fly catchers", a bat became the victim. This beautiful creature was needlessly tortured before I was able to get it to a facility that could care for him. I will do everything in my power to make consumers aware of this product!!Response From Terro®Patty : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateIt works, just gotta place them where the flies goThese work, they need to placed strategically where the flies go.
You need to watch what paths the flies move along and place them in their way.
I like to hang them on my florescent tube, one at each end as the flies are attracted to the lights or hang em near the garbage cans.
Also you need to unfold the strip straight by placing some weight in the tube to make them hang down.
Think like a fly and place them where the flies go even if it means placing them low, they work.
If you want to elemination the problem then you have to remove their food source and water.
That includes juice left in bottles, on countertops or plates, food particles or juices left in mops or rags or even your drains. They go down in there to the water and crud buildup to nest in the overflow piping.
So all this stuff needs to be rinsed and cleaned thoroughly everyday and after eating and food preparation to cut down on the infestation.
Wash them pop bottles and beer cans out after use.
Review RateNO MAGNETISMHeat and humidity drew many flies into the house this past week. Hung the Fly Magnet in 2 locations - Did not attract one fly. Didn't work for me!Response From Terro®Patty : Consumer Relations RepresentativeWe appreciate the time taken to provide this feedback and apologize for the experience.
Our Victor® Fly Ribbon does not contain any attractants to lure the flies to the trap. When a fly lands on the trap, it becomes stuck and will eventually die. The ribbon does not contain any poisons or vapors that kill the flies.

- All About
All About Flies Victor® Poison-Free™ Fly Ribbon 4pk Controls
Houseflies (black, non-glossy body) and blowflies (metallic blue/green/gold body) are the most common types found around homes -- both are categorized as "filth flies". Houseflies are attracted more toward animal manure and decayed food, while the blowfly is attracted more to decayed meat (road kill) or fish.
- Control Options
Controlling Flying Insects
Indoor and outdoor fly traps containing non-poisonous baits, fly paper, and aerosol sprays containing pyrethrins/d-limonene are types of products that can be effective in controlling houseflies.
Indoor fly traps can be used inside the home when directions are followed. Outdoor fly traps can be used when many flies have infiltrated an area. There are different types of fly paper available for indoor and outdoor use as well.
Use non-poisonous aerosols such as those containing mint oil, pyrethrin, and d-limonene for instant spot control.
Outdoor fly traps contain food attractants that draws flies. These traps should be placed outdoors according to trap instructions. Set these traps away from outdoor living spaces. By attracting flies, the trap will keep them away from your home, patio or deck.
Indoor fly traps may also contain food based baits and can be used safely in the home when directions are followed. Some traps attract flies just because of their 3-D look. Flies are always looking for a place to land and the color contrast of some traps creates the look of an edge for them to land. Fly paper, an adhesive type of paper, can be placed around windows, in garages, and in barns and stables.
Use aerosols in accordance with directions on the product label.
Fly traps and fly paper should be placed when fly numbers increase. Flies increase in numbers as the temperature rises and often after rainfall since these factors cause the flies' eggs to hatch.
Flies are less active and roost in corners, on ceilings and on the tops of window panes during the heat of the day. Spraying them at this time of day is the most effective use of aerosol sprays.
Why Choose a Solution?
Solutions break down quickly to their natural elements. They are preferable to chemical pesticides that leave residuals where they are sprayed causing long-term detrimental effects on the environment.
Methods of controlling houseflies include all of the following: removing debris from the inside or outside of your house, properly maintaining screens and screen doors, and closing off any cracks in your outside walls that would allow flies to enter your home.
Remove debris and trash near your home and in your yard. Place it in a trash bag and tightly close it. Put it out on trash day.
Make sure all of your windows have screens on them. Fix or replace any screens containing holes. Keep doors or screen doors closed.
Use caulk or weatherstripping to fill in any cracks or holes in the outside walls of your home.
Pet waste should be cleaned and disposed of often and removed with the trash weekly.
Remove any debris and trash from inside as well as outside of your home throughout the year.
Check screens and screen door before installing or using in the Spring. Periodically check them throughout the summer. Also, check them in the fall before storing them.
Fill in any cracks or holes in your outside walls in late summer or early fall before houseflies enter your home in search of warmer surroundings.
Flying Insect Trap - FAQs
Q: How do your Fly Traps compare in efficacy to one another and to an ultraviolet trap?
A: For outdoor fly use, the fly trap is the best. If by ultraviolet, you mean bug zappers, they are ok, but attract a lot of other insects that are not a problem, including beneficial insects.
Q: What is the fly bait made of and is the odor offensive?
A: The bait formula is proprietary, consisting mostly of food grade ingredients, specifically (proteins). The odor is not as strong if the trap is placed in an area with good air circulation. Most importantly, the flies love it!
Q: What do you recommend for indoor use and why?
A: I suggest Victor® Fly Tape, or Victor® Fly Strip for indoor use to attract and trap flies odorlessly.
