Havahart® X-Small 2-Door Trap

Designed for You by Trapping Professionals

The Havahart® X-Small 2-Door Live Animal Trap was designed and tested in the field by trapping professionals. This trap is built to target and trap the smallest critters with ease. Thanks to the trap's careful construction, small animals cannot outsmart this mouse trap. The trip plate is sensitive enough that even the lightest animals like voles and mice can effectively trigger the metal door closed. The mesh openings of the cage are smaller than competing traps, so these little critters cannot steal the bait.

Simple to Operate

You don't have to be an expert to use this Havahart® humane mouse trap. Its design allows trappers of all experience levels to capture, transport, and release small animals with ease.

Safe for You and the Animal

A live trap is a humane tool for eliminating these tiny varmints from your home or property, and Havahart® makes the process safe for both you and the animal.

For You: Solid doors and hand guards protect you from contact with a trapped animal.

For the Animal: A strong door lock keeps the animal safely inside the cage, while smooth, rolled internal trap edges prevent injuries during transport.

A Two-Door Trap is Effective and Versatile

This two-door live mouse trap allows you to create a clear path from one end of the cage to the other. This clear line of sight is reassuring to the animal and increases your odds of a catch. Place a two-door trap against a wall or along an animal's path in order to capture it as it travels from either direction. Or choose to set the trap with only one door open, and place it in front of an entryway to catch mice, shrews or voles as they venture inside.

Havahart® Traps are Built to Last

Havahart® builds traps with premium materials intended to endure harsh weather and unpredictable critters. This vole and mouse cage trap is made with galvanized steel for optimum resistance against rust and corrosion, ensuring many uses and a long trap life.

Hit or miss By DB17

Poor construction with the set rods. Bends were not correct and very difficult to get a round bar to stay set. It needs a partial flat spot. The instructions did not match the actual unit thus that's probably why so many reviews complain about them Once I bent the bars I was able to set it, but only inside as any wind would trigger it The good side is I caught a couple of mice but I also was able to check the trap within an hour. When I had to leave it over night the mice figured out how to escape though the cracks. Thus only 3 stars as the construction and directions along with the escapability factor makes these a hit or miss item

Sensitive Trigger But Works Well By Naturalist

I got the 2 Door Small Trap several months ago and after I tried another brand trap (that supposedly you do not need bait, you just wind it up and the trap is supposed to be able to hold several mice) did not work I tried the Havahart trap. I used a pistachio as bait and after several attempts, Iwas able to secure it on the Trigger. The Trigger mechanism is real sensitive and a pain to set but the main problem is that the bait kept falling off until I was able to secure the bait properly. After about two hours I saw that the one door was closed. The first thought that came to my mind was the door closed on it's own due to the sensitivity of the Trigger. When I went over to take a closer look , I saw a mouse inside

Only trap that works 100% of the time and is humane 100% of the time. By Michigan

These traps are amazing. I had a WTH? moment when I went to set up the catch mechanism, but it is actually extremely easy to use and works every single time it's set. I had tried another brand live trap that had what I thought was an excellent design. Somehow, after tripping the mechanism the mice were still able to escape. Not so with the Havahart. If it's sprung, the mouse is inside. Fantastic live traps!

The trap of choice for me! By Peanut911
Since we purchased this trap, we have humanely caught two mice. It really was nice to be able to let them go instead of having to empty a dead mouse out of a snap trap (or having the trap snap while relaxing in the living room). This trap is a little tricky to set, but my husband figured it out and we put it to use right away. Peanut butter was the offering and lured them in nicely.

I would like to upgrade a previous negitive review By disappointed in Chino
I recently was upset with receiving an email to review a product I never received. After contacting Havahart that my package was not delivered to my home but handed off to the local post office via "SurePost" but the site did not allow a PO Box. They resent my order and it was delivered in 2 days to my home. I still need to put the live traps out but I'm very impressed with their customer service.

Perfect for small spaces. By mikep
These are perfect for small places are great for tight places. The trigger mechanism is easier to set than he small 1-door traps. These will have to be used inside as I can't see chaining them down except on a light chain which would be useless. I have seen the small 1-door traps used in a documentary called Giant Rats on you-tube. I think Nature did it. I've shied away from poisons since other animals may be poisoned, too by eating the sick or dead rats. I feel like trapping for other people on an informal basis.

Love Hate Relationship With This Trap By Smilin Eyes
I bought two of these a couple of weeks ago. The plastic traps I had been successfully using for months, for some reason, stopped holding the mice. I still can't figure out how they are able to get out after eating their treats. The Havahart has many glowing reviews on catching even these "smart" mice. I agree, I have caught several, way more than I thought were in the house to begin with, with these traps. This is the love part of my relationship with them. The hate part is setting them so that they aren't so sensitive they go off when you move them, to they are so insensitive I have had mice waltz in, eat the goodies, and walk right out. And they are difficult to put the bait in. My hand definitely sets off the trap, and the whole process of trying to set it begins again. I have to use a pair of tongs and very gently place the bait inside. So in summary, when the stars align and the gods are with me, and all works as it should, I catch these annoying but very cute little critters and take them for a ride to release them into a new life back in nature where they belong.

Great deal By Norman45
I welcomed your special deal because I have been needing a couple more of these traps for quite a while and this was an extremely reasonable price.

Works! But directions hard to follow By Suzette
Very ez if you just use common sense. The curved bar goes down on the straight bar. Now pull out the little lever that balances food tray. Push very slightly over the curved bar and there you have it. Caught only one mouse and that seems to have been it in the house. I sealed up entry ways and Terminix got the garage and roof. So far no mice! Great product.
