Ants can be a problem anywhere – in the home, at work and everywhere in between. To kill common household ants, place TERRO® Liquid Ant Baits in areas where they attract foraging ants that take the bait back to the nest. As the bait circulates through the colony, it kills the ants you see and the ones you don’t. The new and improved snap-off tab makes the stations easy to use. Plus, the closed bait stations prevent the bait from drying out to provide the ants with a continuous supply of liquid, day and night. Note: complete control may take up to two weeks. How Liquid Ant Bait Works Since this is a bait, initially you will see more ants – but don’t worry, this is a good thing. Why? As ants forage for food, they are easily attracted to the sweet, sugary liquid inside the bait stations. After finding the bait, worker ants consume it and leave behind a pheromone trail leading back to the colony. This trail lets other worker ants know where the newly discovered food supply is. This is why you will see more ants in the beginning.
Meanwhile, the active ingredient, Borax, is slowly interfering with the ant’s digestive system, ultimately killing it, but leaving enough time for the ant to go back and share the dose with the rest of the colony. This slow kill is necessary so that foraging ants can make several trips to the bait. The communal nature of an ant colony allows the bait to be spread to hundreds, if not thousands, of individual ants.Where to Place Ant Baits
Place TERRO® Liquid Ant Baits near trails and other locations where ants are numerous. It’s also a good idea to place bait stations anywhere ants may try to enter your home. The compact size of the bait stations makes them perfect for placement along baseboards, in corners, on counters, under and behind appliances, and on windowsills. The more bait placements, the better!Easy-Open Tab Each TERRO® Liquid Ant Bait station is sealed so the bait stays fresh until you’re ready to use them. To open the bait, hold the station vertically and twist the new and improved tab. This opens up the station and allows ants to access the bait. Place the entire station on a flat surface, keeping the ant bait inside the station.
Note: Some earlier versions of TERRO® Liquid Ant Bait required it to be opened by scissors. The new snap-off tab eliminates this method of opening, but some earlier versions may still be sold while supplies last. How to Use Liquid Ant Baits
TERRO® Liquid Ant Baits are very easy to use. Before placing the bait stations, be sure to remove other sources of food, such as crumbs, sugar and grease spots to prevent attracting ants elsewhere. Do not place bait where you’ve already sprayed insecticides, as the pests may avoid the bait stations.

Review RateLove and dislike
I have used Terro ant baits for the last 3 years. The bait works great! The new package is awful as said by other reviews. I love the outdoor baits but can't use them this year. I have a 5 month old puppy and he keeps wanting to eat them. Any other suggestions for this problem. If I could get rid of the ants from the outside I wouldn't have so many inside.Response From Terro®Kathryn : Consumer Relations Representative
Thank you for your feedback! For outdoor use we recommend this product.
Review RateNew design baits stink
The new trap design is terrible. Obviously the person who designed it has not actually tried to use it. The top does not snap off at all I had to cut it with a scissors. Then it is off of the flat surface and the ants can't get into it. Why did you have to mess with the design that was working just fine ?????Response From Terro®Kathryn : Consumer Relations Representative
We appreciate your feedback! Ants are excellent climbers and should be able to access the bait easily, but we have shared your feedback with our Product Managers. Please feel free to contact us at 844-837-7644 for assistance.
Review RateAnts Galore
Hard to get top off- had to cut with scissors. Leaky- yes. Ants! Yikes. They’re everywhere coming out of the woodwork. I had only been seeing random scout ants here and there but the traps brought them all out. There were so many I ended up spraying raid because I didn’t know what to do.

Terro Liquid ant bait worked great. Keeping it on hand in the garage
Review RateA+ For Terro Ant Traps
These Terro ant traps wiped out an infestation in less than a day. We had a long line of ants across the house eating dropped food in the kitchen. We set 4 traps out and most of the ants were gone that night. None in the morning. We will leave the traps for another day before removing them. The ants found the traps quicker than I expected. I tried Raid traps in the past which were ineffective as the ants walked around it. Great product Terro. Also contains Borax, not as toxic as sprays.

Review RateTHE ANTS ARE GONE
THE ANTS ARE GONE!!!! You couldn't ask for a better review. The only negative was the containers were very hard to open. I had to use pliers.
Review RateChange the design to the old ramp designI am a bitter customer. When I first had ant problems, I struggled to find a solution until I bought your liquid ant traps. I would cut out the ramp, place them on the floor, and watch them instantly find the trap and use it. There would be a continuous, focused stream of ants to the trap. None would wander off course. In two days, only a few stragglers would be moving back and forth, and a couple of days later they would be gone. It was pure magic. Imagine my surprise when I bought the traps and noticed the ramp was gone and replaced with a weird little tab opening. I tried twisting it off, but it mangled the plastic, so I ended up cutting it anyway. Imagine my horror when I placed these traps and the ants just didn't seem to know they were there. Some would go in, but most would wander past. I've had ants for weeks now, the steady stream has been replaced with a slow, fairly constant trickle that doesn't seem to be going away any time soon. Why did you change the design so that they have to climb up a sharp edge into a small hole? Why make it more difficult for the ants to use the traps? Why ruin one of the best products I have ever used? I will now be forced to go through the process of finding a new product that can do the job. For now, I'll just pour the liquid out onto the floor so that the ants can find it. Please, I'm begging you, change the design back to the way it was. You will make at least one customer happy if you do.
Review RateIt works, just not ideally in its current container design.
Every time I used these traps the ants swarm the bait container so much they drown themselves in the liquid, rendering the vast majority of the bait useless after several days as it's filled with dead ants and no longer appealing. I don't think it matters how many you put out as they aren't smart enough to navigate the large pool of liquid in fresh bait. I've never had ants finish the bait because of this. Therefore, I feel a redesign of the traps would be ideal, maybe flatter but with a lot more surface area with enough liquid to just fill the shallow cavities and not over it so they can actually go around each cavity and not drown. Maybe more actual traps in each box would make up for the less bait in the traps or just larger traps. At this point the bottled bait dropped onto a flat surface works better as they don't drown themselves and go around each drop but it leaves the bait exposed. I'm not sure at what depth and surface area the ants can safely navigate without drowning, but its something to consider in a redesign.
Review RateNew Design Awful!
The new design with the snap off tip is awful. I agree with other reviewer that the ramp needs to come back. It really was not hard to trim the thing open. People have scissors! The snap off didn't work either. It squished the plastic together which took fiddling to reopen the entrance. Ended up having to cut it anyway since it didn't really snap. The plastic wasn't rigid enough.Response From Terro®Lauren : Consumer Relations Representative

- All About
There are more than 10,000 known species of ants living throughout the world. Like other insects, they have six legs; each with three joints. Ants have large heads with compound eyes, elbowed antennae and powerful jaws. Ants are social insects that live in structured nest communities throughout the world. The species of ant determines whether they live underground, in mounds built at ground level, in wood structures or in plants or trees.
Why are ants always invading my kitchen, bathroom and laundry areas?
Ants are attracted to food, water and shelter. Kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms provide at least two of these conditions, making it an ideal haven for ants to congregate.
What’s the difference between liquid and gel ant baits?
It’s a little known fact that adult worker ants cannot digest solid food (bait). Their anatomy is designed for transporting and digesting liquids only. Solid foods must be carried back to the colony for additional processing by the larvae stage. Liquid baits exploit this unique physiology by making it easy for ants to transport the liquid bait back to the rest of the colony, including the queen, larvae and other workers.
How long does it take to eliminate an ant colony with TERRO® Liquid Ant Bait?
Remember, this is a BAIT ant control product and will initially attract a lot of ants. The ants consume large quantities of the bait and then return to the nest and share it with the rest of the colony, including the queen, eventually eliminating the entire colony. This process can take from just a couple days to several weeks, depending on the size of the colony. Each ant that consumes the bait will die within 24 - 48 hours. It is important to leave the bait as undisturbed as possible while the ants are actively feeding on it. You should replace it only if it becomes inaccessible to the ants, or empty.
