Two-Color Design: Camouflage Your Ant Bait

Multi-Surface Ant Baits feature a discreet, two-color design. This innovation allows the baits to blend in with your existing décor so you won’t even notice they are there. Just choose the color that blends in best with the spot you are placing it – either white or brown – then apply the adhesive strip to the opposite side.

How Does Ant Bait Work

Since this is a bait, initially you will see more ants – but don’t worry, this is a good thing. Why? As ants forage for food, they are easily attracted to the sweet liquid inside the bait stations. After finding the bait, worker ants consume it and leave behind a pheromone trail leading back to the colony. This trail lets other worker ants know where the newly discovered food supply is. This is why you will see more ants in the beginning.

Meanwhile, the active ingredient is slowly interfering with the ant’s digestive system, ultimately killing it, but leaving enough time for the ant to go back and share the dose with the rest of the colony. This slow kill is necessary so that foraging ants can make several trips to the bait, allowing you to get rid of both the ants you see and the ants you don’t.

Three Access Points

Baits Stay Fresh

Multi-Surface Ant Baits are sealed until you’re ready to use them. First, choose the perfect location for your ant bait. Next, twist off the tab to open up the bait. If needed, adhere the bait station with the included sticky tape. Remember: Until the tab is pulled off, the liquid bait inside stays fresh!

Adhesive issue

Same adhesive issue as the others have posted. Simply doesn't work, adhesive comes off with label, and no way to separate the two. Poorly designed, and frankly surprised Terro customer service hasn't asked customers for the lot numbers or other identifying info, perhaps it affects all of these bait stations regardless of date of manufacture. From their review responses it seems they already know of the issue but won't come right out and acknowledge it. So far haven't found an effective tape that will stay adhered to the station so we're stuck with laying them flat and trying to coax the ants to the station while keeping our cats from knocking them off the tables. Terro's the go-to for us, and is even recommended by professional exterminators, but I guess we'll have to find something else now for these type of bait stations.

I wasted a box of this - I can't peel off a square tab, the whole adhesive square came off the plastic container. So, I used packing tape to secure it but in the process of cutting off the top tub, the liquid spilled... Good product and idea - but didn't test enough before the production!

2 sided tape does not stick because of glaring design flaw.
1
Jun 20, 2026
(T334B) If the surface with the 2 sided tape was rigid and flat, or if it was slightly convex this product might have actually worked. But the 2 sided tape on a flimsy convex surface is useless. It is not a surprise that a product with such a glaring design flaw gets 60% 1 star reviews. It is surprising that the design flaw has not been fixed. This is managerial malpractice. The previous version of this product worked and worked well.

Your model T334 is a good design because I place it on the back splash tile right below the electrical outlet the ants are coming through. However, step 2 Removing remaining adhesive paper backing is an unnecessarily difficult task. The paper covering the adhesive does not peel off without a great deal of difficulty. My suggestion is leave a small tab of the glossy white paper attached to the adhesive on each adhesive strip.

New ant bait surface mounted stations are inferior to old product.

I have been a very satisfied Terro customer for way over 10 years, and the bait works fabulously for ridding my house of ants. But this year, when I went to replace all of my stations, I noticed the station had changed. The exterior housings were no longer included. I am terribly disappointed with your new replacements.; They no longer come with the rigid 2-sided white/brown plastic cover. They are now this new thin, flimsy plastic, not secure, do not stick to surfaces, and are easily removed by pets and children. I just don't understand why . . . When you have a superior product that works, with hundreds, probably thousands, of satisfied customers. Why on earth would you replace it with an inferior product that doesn't stick and has no exterior housing for the product to easily and securely sit into. I have been a very satisfied Terro customer and have been using your TERRO Multi-Surface Liquid Ant Baits wall-mounted stations forever, and they have worked wonderfully. I am now a Very Unhappy customer. And it seems i am not the only one! PLEASE RETURN TO the OLD HOUSING with old foam double-sided sticky tape.

Thank you for your long-time support of TERRO® products. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear that the updated TERRO® Multi-Surface Liquid Ant Baits did not meet your expectations. The current design was updated to provide a lower-profile bait station that can be placed on a variety of surfaces while still delivering the same ant-killing formula that customers have relied on for years. We understand that the previous housing and foam adhesive system offered features that you preferred, particularly for mounting security and protection from accidental disturbance by pets or children. Your comments regarding the durability, adhesion, and overall design have been shared with our product team, as customer feedback plays an important role in future product development. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know how the new design compares to the original version and value your many years as a TERRO® customer.

As with everyone else, I've had my problems with the double sided tape. It IS double sided, but because of the way it's cut, there isn't anything to grab on to peel off the permanent side skin. With this box of 4, one of them was completely destroyed because the foam in the middle actually tore rather than the skin coming off. The other three I worked on for about 5 minutes each before I could get it free. But what's worse for me, is this was easily my #1 preferred ant bait on the market. The old design was hard plastic and two toned, so it didn't look horrible in use and with the two toned box you could at least somewhat match it against whatever you were putting it on. That design has been changed to a soft plastic, uglier and cheaper looking box that is only white. On the Terro site it shows the new version on the box, but the description still states "Discreet, two-color design blends in with your décor" Scroll down a little and every picture is of the old model, the description also speaks about the old design ( with a picture of it with the brown side facing out against a brown wall kickplate. ) Even the video on the Terro site about this product is about the old design. But even worse than the design no longer being decent looking, and two tone in color, there is a big flaw in it because it is relative soft. Because of that, there are only some edge surfaces in which the double sided tape adheres to, and you can't push hard to press the tape surface against the wall because it will dimple the bait itself and potentially squish the poison out the top and onto your finger. This is an absolute mistake of a design in both aesthetics as well as function. The fact that Terro made this makes me wonder if they thought this through at all. The fact that 95% of the product page that I am writing this on, is still the description of the old product and every image of the product is also the version they discontinued except for the one box image, validates that concern. This isn't just a bad product "improvement" but it is so bad it makes me rethink about using any other Terro product that I purchase year in and year out. If you wanted to reduce plastic, I understand that. But in that case, make it a resusable case similar to last years product and have a refill that can be put inside it. What you did was basically sell us a refill for the same price, that has no available item to put it inside of. I really would think a refund is in order.

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We appreciate your long-time support of TERRO® products and are sorry to hear about your experience with the updated Multi-Surface Liquid Ant Baits. We understand your frustration regarding the adhesive backing. The tape liner should peel away cleanly, and the difficulty you experienced, including one bait being damaged during installation, is not the experience we want for our customers. We also appreciate your comments about the updated bait station design, including the appearance, mounting performance, and concerns about the product information shown on our website. Your observations regarding the product images, descriptions, and video content are valuable, and we will share this feedback with our product and website teams for review. Customer feedback plays an important role in helping us evaluate future product improvements. We apologize for the disappointment this has caused and appreciate you taking the time to provide such thorough feedback.

We're sorry to hear about your experience. The TERRO® Multi-Surface Liquid Ant Baits should be placed where ants are actively foraging, and the adhesive backing is intended for mounting on walls or other surfaces if desired. If the bait station is being used flat, ensure the bait openings remain accessible to the ants. After discovering the bait, ant activity may temporarily increase as workers recruit other ants to feed before carrying the bait back to the colony. This process can take up to two weeks to eliminate the colony. Replacing any dried or depleted bait stations and avoiding the use of ant sprays near the bait can also help improve results. We appreciate your longtime support of TERRO® and your feedback regarding the new design.
HORRIBLE tape design.

May 21, 2026
Awful tape design. Step 1 on the box looks like someone peeling a sticky cover off the bait. There is a little white label on the bait but underneath is not sticky. The tape pad seems to only have one sticky side. What the heck? I hope you didn't pay someone to design that sticky and write those awful instructions. Is the asticky pad 2 sided? Was there supposed to be a peel off sticky on the bait like the picture? The annoyance factor totally outweighs any potential success from the bait itself. Total fail!

We’re sorry to hear about your experience. The adhesive pad included with the TERRO® Multi-Surface Liquid Ant Baits is double-sided. One side adheres to the bait station and the other side adheres to the mounting surface, with a protective liner that should be removed before installation. We appreciate your feedback regarding the instructions and packaging, as clear setup guidance is important. Your comments will be shared with our product team for review.

Once you discover, from a You Tube video that there is indeed a liner on the back side, you find it is impossible to remove. I used scotch tape. Remove the outside liner, also not easy, and the trap does not adhere to anything. (Painters tape this time to avoid damage.) Will absolutely never buy again.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the TERRO® Multi-Surface Liquid Ant Baits. The adhesive backing does have a protective liner on both sides, and peeling it can sometimes be easier by lifting the edge with a fingernail rather than tape. For best adhesion, the surface should be clean, dry, and free of dust or residue before applying. We appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback.
Complete garbage.

Complete garbage. Adhisive strips say REMOVE THIS SIDE ONLY, leaving me with only one sticky side. How the hell is it supposed to stick to the bait? I see all the one star reviews because of this problem. Design team really dropped the ball on this one.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience. The adhesive strips are designed so one side attaches to the bait station and the other to the mounting surface after removing the protective backing. If the strips did not function as intended, we apologize for the frustration. Your feedback regarding the design is appreciated and will be shared with our team.

Q&A

How on earth do the Multi-Surface adhesive strips work??? The instructions say only one paper side (the printed side) is removable, and I believe it! There is no way I could get the paper on the other side off! You need to have adhesive on BOTH sides of the strip, don't you???
Question by: frank ross on Mar 31, 2025, 5:22 PM
Thank you for reaching out with your question! The adhesive strips are designed to keep the baits securely in place on walls, floors, and under cabinets. The paper backing on the adhesive strip may appear tricky to peel off on one side, but please rest assured that it will come off with a bit of effort. The side with the printed lettering is the one that should face the wall or surface, while the other side remains adhered to the bait station.

Will these work for roaches. I love your regular ant traps and they work great, but can't find anything specific to roaches at Lowes or Menards.
Question by: Hannah Helm on May 8, 2025, 2:29 PM
Thank you for reaching out! No, this does not work for roaches, we recommend you use TERRO® Multi-Surface Roach Baits.

My bait stations have a bait pack with a note on the back about the chemical ingredients plus a triangle pull spot. Is this to prepare for adhesive placement or do I use the 4 tabs each marked REMO ONE REMOVABLE THIS SIDE ONLY for adhesive placement? Thanks.
Question by: Stuart A Napier, JR. on Jul 16, 2025, 6:37 PM
Use the 4 tabs marked "Remove one – Remove this side only " for adhesive placement.
Answer by: Brandon (Admin) on Jul 17, 2025, 2:30 PM
How do I join the class action lawsuit against your crappy adhesive tape? You need two sided tape to make this work and even the use instructions say "Note: Only printed side of adhesive is removable?" Seriously, why are you selling this? What is the point?

Will the heat of the dishwasher impact the safety of the ant traps? Is it safe for pets if it gets heated?
Question by: Heidi on Jun 26, 2026, 1:15 AM
Thank you for contacting us. Regarding your question, the Multi-Surface Bait Stations should not be attached to appliances that become hot. The product is safe to use when applied according to the label directions. While the ingredients are natural, we recommend placing the bait in areas that are inaccessible to pets. If your dog consumes any of the bait and you notice any adverse effects, please contact your veterinarian immediately and provide them with the product information.
