Helpfulness
Instructions need to be rewritten
Feb 7, 2026
Product is no doubt fine but I don't know how it got released to market with instructions that are flat-out wrong. They say that only the printed side of the adhesive is removable, but actually you must remove both sides if you want to make it stick. I wasted a lot of time fruitlessly trying to make the non-printed side stick before realizing that, yes, you must also remove the covering from that side. You can see from other reviews here and from the Q&A that many other people have had the same problem.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the TERRO® Multi-Surface Liquid Ant Baits. We’re sorry for the frustration caused by the instructions. To secure the bait station properly, both protective liners on the adhesive need to be removed so it can stick to the surface as intended. Once placed near active ant trails, the bait can be accessed by the ants and carried back to the colony.
We appreciate you calling this out, and we’ll pass this feedback along to our team so they’re aware of the instruction issue and can work toward correcting it.

Pure junk,,,,just bought this new style bait for the first time. Instructions say to remove printed portion of adhesive backing. The tiny piece of backing would not separate. Either product is old or it is crap adhesive. Why not just put a piece of double back adhesive tape in the box? Worthless product.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the TERRO® Multi-Surface Liquid Ant Baits. We’re sorry for the frustration with the adhesive backing. If the paper backing seems difficult to peel, one side can be more stubborn, but it will separate with a firm pull or by gently lifting an edge with a fingernail. Once removed, the adhesive should hold the bait in place when applied to a clean, dry surface.
Poor product. Followed all instructions….

Followed all instructions. 1 out of 8 actually stuck to the baseboard. That one did attract some ants. All others fell off attracted very few ants. This also makes the product more dangerous for pets and small children. . I used the older version of these with the plastic cases around them and they always worked very well. I’ve tried to find older stock, but though Terro changed the product, they used the same product number so you can’t tell what you’re actually ordering as many sellers haven’t updated their product pictures. Please return to your old design with the plastic cases around them. I will not purchase any more of these indoor bait stations.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the TERRO® Multi-Surface Liquid Ant Baits. We’re sorry to hear about the issues with adhesion and performance. For best results, the surface should be clean, dry, and free of dust or residue before applying the bait, as this helps it stay in place. Placing the bait directly along active ant trails can also improve attraction.
These traps did not stick ...

These traps did not stick to vertical surfaces as advertised. I followed the instructions including cleaning and drying the surface and holding for 10 seconds. All fell within hours. The previous design and adhesive was far superior, with those traps sticking for many months.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the TERRO® Multi-Surface Liquid Ant Baits. The adhesive is designed to stick firmly to clean, dry surfaces, but performance can vary depending on material or texture. Pressing and holding the station for 30 seconds instead of 10 may improve adhesion. We appreciate your feedback on the new design and will share your comments with our product team for review as we continue to improve adhesive strength and reliability.

I was disappointed with most recent purchase!
like the terro product. However, when I recently purchased the “new design” it was a poor design. The plastic was flimsy, the adhesive pads did non stick. Please go back to previous enclosed case design!!

Poorly made

Why is only one side adhesive when it needs to stick to the bait AND the wall/surface. Disappointing!

We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the TERRO® Multi-Surface Liquid Ant Baits. The adhesive is designed for one side only to ensure it adheres securely to your chosen surface while keeping the opposite side clean and safe for ants to access the bait. For best results, make sure the surface is clean and dry before applying the station, and press firmly for about 30 seconds to ensure a solid hold. We appreciate your feedback and will share your comments with our product team for future improvements.
This is a scam product.

This is a scam product. One side adhesive, how do you expect that to work?
Worthless product from a bad company.
Do better…

Was very pleased to see an option for attachment instead of just placing on surfaces but this did not live up to its marketing at all. Clear backing was impossible to get off.

The directions even say that only one side of the adhesive patch can be peeled, and yet both sides need to be sticky in order for it to adhere to anything. I tried peeling the other side of the patch anyway, as that seems like the only logical way it would work, but I eventually just gave up.
Doesn’t stick to anything

Doesn’t stick to walls or cabinets or much of anything. That’s specifically why I bought this version. Difficult to cut open the top and expose the bait. Would not purchase again.
