TERRO® Outdoor Liquid Ant Baits

Put an end to large-scale infestations with these TERRO® Outdoor liquid ant baits. Their pre-filled, ready-to-use design is convenient and easy to install around your home or yard where ants have been observed. Stakes are included to secure the stations on various surfaces, including grass or gravel. Each station contains 1 ounce of liquid formula, ensuring foraging worker ants share the bait with the entire colony, letting you exterminate the problem at the source.

Outdoor Ant Killer Spray
How it Works Unlike contact killers, which only target visible worker ants on your property, these baits include slow-acting ingredients that have a delayed effect on the ant's digestive system. This deliberate kill method lets the foragers feed and return to the colony where they can spread the bait to the young and queen, eliminating the outdoor population before it can enter your home. During this time, the number of ants may increase as they swarm to feed on the sweetened liquid before they begin disappearing altogether.
Effortless Installation

The patented bait stations feature a foil seal that prevents the liquid from drying prior to placement. This prefilled design lets you prepare the bait and fill the internal reservoir in seconds by simply pushing the cup down and giving it a quarter turn, which punctures the foil. Ants access the bait through holes at the top of the ramps. Created for flexibility, these bait stations can be set flat inside garages, sheds, and deck spaces or outdoors where the removable stakes can be fastened securely in grass or gravel-covered locations.

Terro Outdoor Liquid Ant Baits are like magic! Within a couple days of my deploying the baits, ants were streaming toward them. And, within a week thereafter, I saw no more ants.

Exactly what I needed when I needed it! By Tony

We live in a wooded area and bugs are just part of the territory. You cannot escape the fact that you will need to actively participate in protecting your home. I was able to do a great deal because of your terrific products! The problem still exists, but has slowed significantly. It has given me time to hire a proper exterminator to help keep the pests away from the main floor of the home. Exactly what I needed when I needed it! Thank you, T

Use every year, and are pleased with effectiveness. By Kathy

We use these TERRO outdoor ant baits for years. You need to remember that you will see more ants at first, as they swarm to the baits. Good news as they will bring this back to their nest to kill MORE ants. We place traps all around our house, and some around our yard if needed. We also use TERRO indoor ant baits in case ants make it that far.

Used for years, and are pleased with effectiveness. By Kathy

We use Terri outdoor ant baits every year. You must remember that you will see more ants at first, as ants flock to the bait. Good news as they take it back to the nest to kill more. We place baits around the house, and around our yard as needed. We also use indoor ant baits if ants make it that far. We're VERY pleased with Terro, and do recommend it to our friends.

Works Fast, Pet Safe By Murphy

Phoenix, AZ invites resilient pests in all shapes and forms. The ant problem we experienced in our backyard kept shifting to other locations. We thought we had the problem solved, with other "recommended products" just to find out another trail of ants formed some place else in the yard. We ordered Terro ant traps online -- placed them at strategic places around our back yard and within a week, we noticed the ants and ant trails were gone. The best thing about Terro, we have two rescue dogs who spend time in the back yard when it's cool enough and we feel secure that Terro products are not toxic to our pets.

Saved our 100 yr old home By RS

We have been using these traps for carpenter ants both inside and outside our home for years effectively. Our local store ran out and we tried another common brand..big mistake! Glad to find your website with options available we have never seen in our stores. Thanks for helping preserve our 100 year old house in a inner ring suburb with large old trees, not uncommon when they are cut to find huge carpenter and nests within. I'm telling all my neighbors who also have old homes to protect. Thank you for such a safe and effective product!

Product does very well By MadMatt

I prefer this product method for the house outdoor control. It works well. I've seen little ants visiting this and then suddenly they aren't there after about a week or so. There is no shame in placing these traps around your home's foundation. The ants that are nearby will try and enter your structure and ruin stuff. Yes, ants have their place in nature. But the ones living closest to your home, do not have good intentions.

Good so far. By Sam

Not really sure yet. Summer is just beginning. Haven't seen any ants in the house recently but we did several interventions, including Terro. The inside ant bait liquid does work well. I've recommended your products to a couple friends.

Q.Am I supposed to twist the tabs off or bend them back and forth to activate a stake? Twice, I have had to use scissors to open the reservoir. What am I doing wrong. How dangerous is skin contact with the liquid?

The tabs may be twisted or cut off, whichever is easier. The bait is water, sugar, and borax.

Q.The answer concerning pets was kind of ambiguous... So, spefically, are the active ingredients in this product toxic to mammals? To what extent? I understand the danger in the plastic itself but what dangers do the ingredients pose to pets? How concerned should I be if I get the liquid on my hands?

We recommend contacting your vet with the product ingredients (water, sugar, and borax) to determine how this product may affect your pets if consumed. If the product gets on your skin, we recommend washing with a mild soap and warm water.

Q.Do these work with fire ants? Thanks for any information you can give me. The fire ants are taking over!

Our liquid ant baits are not recommended for use against fire ants. We suggest our TERRO® Ant Killer Plus or TERRO® Ant Dust.

All About

There are more than 10,000 known species of ants living throughout the world. Like other insects, they have six legs; each with three joints. Ants have large heads with compound eyes, elbowed antennae and powerful jaws. Ants are social insects that live in structured nest communities throughout the world. The species of ant determines whether they live underground, in mounds built at ground level, in wood structures or in plants or trees.

More About Ants

What’s the difference between liquid and gel ant baits?

It’s a little known fact that adult worker ants cannot digest solid food (bait). Their anatomy is designed for transporting and digesting liquids only. Solid foods must be carried back to the colony for additional processing by the larvae stage. Liquid baits exploit this unique physiology by making it easy for ants to transport the liquid bait back to the rest of the colony, including the queen, larvae and other workers.

I just placed several TERRO® Liquid Ant Baits on my deck and it’s attracting more ants, not killing them! What’s going on?

You have nothing to worry about! Initially, you will see more ants. As ant foragers look for food, they are attracted to the sweet liquid in the bait which they consume and carry back to feed to the rest of the colony. On the way back to the nest, the ants drop what it called a ‘trail pheromone’, letting the other ants know where the tasty food supply is. In turn, these ants follow the trail to the bait which explains why you initially see more ants.

The active ingredient in the bait interferes with the ants' digestive systems, eventually killing the ants within 24-48 hours after consumption. This slow kill gives the worker ants enough to get back and share the bait with the colony. Baiting is the only way to successfully wipe out the ants you see and the thousands you don’t.
