Why are ants always invading my kitchen, bathroom and laundry areas?
Question by: Kathryn Tator on Oct 24, 2020, 11:20 AM
Ants are attracted to food, water and shelter. Kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms provide at least two of these conditions, making it an ideal haven for ants to congregate.

Does this spray have a scent? Can it be sprayed along wiring or inside sockets/outlets? What can it do to a nest?
Question by: T on Mar 8, 2026, 3:51 AM
The TERRO® Ant Killer Spray has a light scent, but it is not designed to leave a strong lingering odor after application.

It should not be sprayed directly on electrical wiring, inside outlets, or into sockets. Apply it only to cracks, crevices, and surfaces where ants are active, following the directions on the label.

When sprayed directly on ants, it kills them on contact. It can help control visible ants and treat areas where they travel, but it is not intended to reach or eliminate an entire nest deep inside walls or structures.

I just had sod placed on my front lawn. Today I saw ant hills in the lawn and around the perimeter of the lawn. What Terri products do you recommend that won’t damage the lawn? Do you have a spray that would work? If not, granular is ok.
Question by: Christine on May 5, 2026, 1:34 PM
For ants in a newly installed lawn, a granular outdoor ant control product is usually the best option because it can treat the mounds without putting excess liquid on the sod. TERRO® Ant Killer Plus can be applied to lawns and around the perimeter areas when used as directed.

If you prefer a spray, avoid overapplying directly to fresh sod until the grass is fully established. Always follow the label instructions for application rates and watering directions to help protect the lawn.
