Kill ants and other pests — seen and unseen — with this strong ant killer for your lawn: TERRO® Perimeter Ant Bait Plus. Formulated to kill insects outdoors, it helps prevent carpenter ants, cockroaches, crickets, earwigs, silverfish, slugs, and snails from coming inside.
Weather-Resistant Granules
TERRO® Perimeter Ant Bait Plus is made up of weather-resistant granules that provide long-lasting protection for up to 4 weeks. It allows you to take care of outdoor infestations before they make their way into your home.
Easy to Use Shaker
Ant Bait Plus from TERRO® is ideal for use as a perimeter application around the edges of your home or property, and the 2 lb shaker canister allows for easy dispensing, eliminating the need for a chemical spreader.
How it Works
Ants, including carpenter ants, are naturally attracted to the sweet scent of TERRO® Perimeter Ant Bait Plus. The active ingredient ultimately kills the primary worker ant after it eats it, but it works slowly enough that it gives time for the first ant to go back to the colony and share the bait. Over time, foraging ants make several trips back to the bait and deliver enough of it to the colony to kill the entire infestation.
Affects a Variety of Insects
While TERRO® Perimeter Ant Bait Plus is primarily used for ants, including carpenter ants, this bait is also effective for other outdoor pests, including cockroaches, crickets, earwigs, silverfish, slugs, and snails.

The kindest thing I can say about this stuff is that it's garbage! Bought the perimeter ant bait granules and the ants totally ignore it. They walk right through it. The only way to kill ants with this expensive crap might be to squash them with the plastic bottle. Don't waste your money on this.
We are sorry to hear about this! When controlling ants, we recommend using either a bait or a contact killer. This product is a bait. If the ants are not attracted to it, then a contact killer such as a contact killing granular or spray might work best. Please feel free to contact 844-837-7644 with any questions or for additional assistance.

Doesn’t seem to be working. The ants ignore it. I put a liquid bait outside and the ants suddenly appear but haven’t touched the crystals. The are still everywhere and on any food they find. I understand that the liquid bait has the same ingredients, but they prefer the liquid. Maybe they want liquid food because of the drought.
We appreciate your feedback! This product is for insects not interested in sweet baits such as the liquid ant bait. Please give us a call at 844-837-7644 with any questions, we're happy to help! -Kathryn
I have used your TERRO ant bait since I built my new house in 2017. Found a nice spot in the woods and built a retirement residence and of course the ants didn't want to leave. They were everywhere. I surrounded my house with the TERRO and after a couple days went around the house to see if I could find any ants. None! Not one ant. I have used it every spring and summer since and the ants are there until the TERRO is there and then the ants are gone.
I use every year in the Spring to control ants for the season. If I don't see an ant, I still treat my foundation with this bait. Works great and keeps the ants under control. I have been using Terro for 25 years!
We just returned to our vacation home in the Islands, ant's are always finding a way in. We are trying this bait for the first time, so far it is outstanding easy to shake from the bottle. I see some ant's are traveling with it, will revisit your review site in a week are so thanks.
Works fantastic! I do a triple treatment. I use the outdoor shaker bag around the house. I also have the liquid bates stationed outside. If they come inside, I use some of the liquid inside. The little critters come in and eat like cattle at the feeding trough for a couple of days, then disappear. Their friends and family come back once or twice, then we are ant free for quite a while! Awesome!

Hi, thank you for reaching us. There is no timeframe to enter the treated area, however, the product can be absorbed through the skin. Safety recommendations are included in the product label.
Answer by: Guillermo (Admin) on Jun 23, 2025, 4:49 PM
I bought Terro granules and used them earlier today on my patio. I looked on the bag to see how long I have to wait before I can walk on the treated areas on my patio, but I didn’t find the answer there.
Question by: Genny on Jun 21, 2025, 3:14 AM
You can walk on the treated patio once the product has settled. The granules are stable and won’t degrade quickly, but you should check the area every 1–2 weeks and reapply if ants are still present and granules are no longer visible.
